!Friendica Developers Is there a preferred way to share end user “focus group” style feedback with Friendica devs? I love Friendica more than other Fediverse tech, I love to support its growth and development, I come from an enterprise level commercial software production team background, but alas I am not myself a php coder. My intent would not be “here’s a list of features I personally want”, my intent would be to provide end user experience feedback such as:
- a compare contrast of non-admin new user experience of Friendica vs other Federated social offerings
- highlight aspects of Friendica that cause me to prefer it over other federated (e.g. Mastodon) or walled garden (e.g. Facebook) social media offerings
- highlight areas of consistent end user confusion among myself and the small group of new users I’ve onboarded this month (about 30 users)
- make myself available to reply to clarifying questions anybody had about the feedback

If there’s any interest happy to share it in the preferred way. If there’s currently no formal way for that sort of thing, I’ll likely just write up one big solitary post from my current Friendica instance and just add some relevant hashtags for someone to stumble across. I hope everybody is having a good day!

I'm not a friendica developer but well though out and researched / evidenced information is compelling so .. write it down where ever and share it on here. It will be found and attract attention and then people will find it.

@Grow Fediverse if you don't want to share your written notes publically, there is the "info@" email address listed on every Friendica installation for feedback :)

Looking forward to read from you!

@Tobias I think that in this case I’m fine with public sharing. I’d be scrubbing it of any PII since it would be aggregated qualitative feedback rather than something for the purpose of debugging (there’s an entire repository of bugs I’m sure most of the ones we encounter are probably documented already and any that aren’t I’ll report via those established bug reporting communication channels with str).

The best way is to use the existing process for handling changes, which is file feature requests on GitHub: github.com/friendica/friendica…

There already are quite a few open issues and GitHub is for now the best way to colaborate on improving friendica UX.

Once a proposal is outlined there, this group here (or the user support group) are great placed to collect feedback and discuss details.
