Is @penpot suitable for designing an A4 poster? (for printing)

It doesn't look obviously like it's made for that, but also maybe I'm missing something obvious. I would probably just try an libreoffice tool normally...

Or any other nice open source tools I could use? Doesn't need to be a fancy design...

Ah on second thought someone made the comment about CMYK - there is a difference between image editing tools and design tools for printing .. I'm no expert but thats a definate thing to consider

@abeorch I think for my purposes this RGB/CMYK distinction matters not... It's a bit DIY style event/poster...

But yes, would be an important factor for more fancy usage!

you can definitly use it for that if you want but it's indeed more designed for interface and web mockups

thanks for the replies! @fberger @smallcircles @liaizon @lightweight @abeorch

I'm trying out inkscape, although it misses out that collaborative aspect, I get quite used to sharing a link to a pad, or other tool now, rather than shipping files around.

and inkscape has about 92380293x as many features than what I need!

but I think it'll work, thanks! πŸ’š

I just took a quick peek at PixiEditor I found on the delightful list, and it looks quite powereful yet intuitive, going from the landing page.

I may give it a spin myself, as in Inkscape things go quickly above my head as well.

Printing is the crucial thing here, imo. Check if the software knows how to handle that properly. CMYK instead of RGB, for example. #Scribus is a desktop publishing software, you can import SVG's and do the text natively. But in the end, it's also about how many different applications you want to learn to do a single poster.
