Updating railway stations tagging diagrams
I’ve suggested an updated version of the diagrams explaining the tagging of railway stations. The goal is to make them simpler to understand, especially for newcomers, without losing the core meaning.OpenStreetMap

You say ##NextcloudFlow but the video only shows #Windmill Automation. windmill.dev/
Could you please elaborate on that? Because what I can see in (my) Nextcloud Flow is nowhere near what the Video advertises.
Is Flow getting replaced by Windmill?

From that one time I saw the most perfect window scene and felt obligated to capture it.
I was inside the capital building of Antigua #Guatemala and as I walked up the stairs I looked out the stairwell window to see this gorgeously framed flower pot. Someone had to have put it there on purpose! I particularly enjoy the effectively black canvas created by the dark interior behind.

Something I stumbled upon recently. Considering the number of book lovers around Mastodon, this seems like a must-share.

'Wellington, you’re so weird': Huge crowd gathers to watch a man fold a fitted sheet
Comedian Dan Boerman arrived in Wellington jetlagged and delirious, but he had a plan. On Monday afternoon, in front of a raucous crowd on Cuba Street, he would perform his ability to fold a fitted sheet to all.“I’m ballparking about 700 people showed up, and from the videos, there were people standing on bins to try and see. It was like a Fred Again concert.”
“Loads of people were saying to me afterwards, ‘This is so silly, this is what we needed in Wellington’ and it was kind of profound in a sense. I was just being silly and putting together something nonsense but people felt real good coming together and chanting on a stranger: ‘Fold that sheet!’

Integrating Forum.openwrt.org with activityPub
!OpenWrt - I really appreciate the OpenWrt forum but also like using an ActivityPub based account to browse posts on topics I am interested in.
I understand that forum OpenWrt uses Discourse which has some capabilities to integrate with activityPub services and have suggested in the forum that they are used but there doesn't seem to be much enthusiasm to do so.
Im probably not good at promoting the benefits or addressing points of concern.
What are people's thoughts?

Maybe but again I don't think that fuller implementation of ActivityPub by Discourse is the issue that is holding back OpenWrt forum from allowing some federation.
Perhaps some positive comments from ActivtyPub users on the OpenWrt fourm discussion might help encourge the admins to consider using the Discource Plugin

Imapsync - Installation and use

You can remap IMAP source folder to destination folder. It's very likely that sent folder needs to be remapped between different hosts.
I suggest you to use the dry-run option and examine the log to see if the folders are correctly mapped.
More in detail, I created an user just to run imapsync as a good practice in Linux.
Then downloaded imapsync in a subfolder of the user home directory, created two very simple scripts, one with the imapsync command with all the parameters I needed and one for the token.
Lastly, using crontab -e, I added two entry one for each script.
You don't need to put imapsync into etc, it is not a binary and, as far as I know, there is no package that you can install with a package manager, it's just a script that you download and execute. Anyway, where you put that, its up to you.
Yeah I did some dry runs and the folders maoped but I think its something about the labels .. Ill dig further.
That info about running via cron is really useful.

in reply to pastermil • • •Is it better for them to build an open source app and host their meetings on Zoom, a platform familiar to the audience they're hoping to bring, or for them to just not, and for local cooperative banks to all build their own in-house proprietary banking apps with no open source option existing?
I'd really like it if we stopped letting perfect be the enemy of good. My credit union uses an app that's just a webview wrapper for their website. I haven't taken a look at the project but a native app built as an open source community project would be fucking awesome, regardless of whether they host video meetings with zoom or jitsi.
They want their project to succeed. A free software project that dies doesn't actually provide anyone with freedoms; hosting with the more well known and familiar video hosting software when they have no existing audience is the right choice.

Many years ago I worked on a project with some FSF staff who refused to use non-FOSS solutions to coordinate or conduct meetings. While the developers involved where all prolific contributors to open source projects used by millions of people, they were all willing to compromise on some of the tools we use to develop and communicate for "the greater good". The FSF staff weren't willing to make those compromises. At the time I was frustrated by this. As Slack ownership changed, costs increased and policies around what they could do with "our" data evolved, I now have a lot more respect for the FSF staff who are "holding the line".

in reply to kreynen • • •I assume it's probably a colossal process to uproot and move infrastructure, but personally I see that eventual hassle as being better than the project never getting enough momentum in the first place.
I think once you actually have a project and audience you can make all the most ideal choices but they do come with costs that really matter when you're just starting things
I recognize I'm no expert on running these projects though
